When we first started dreaming about hosting a race with our friends at Trellis Coffee Bar, we had no idea just how much work went into closing roads, directing runners, and bringing an entire community together.
We just knew we wanted to create something special.
The Trellis 10K was never just about running. It was about creating a morning that felt unmistakably Augusta—friends catching up over coffee before the start, volunteers cheering from every corner, local businesses coming together, and runners of every pace sharing the same roads.
Of course, getting there was another story.
Hosting a road race means thinking about everything. We worked alongside our local police department to safely close roads, mapped every turn of the course, organized volunteers, coordinated vendors, planned race-day logistics, and crossed our fingers that every moving piece would come together.
(And yes—Georgie may have handpicked the route based almost entirely on her favorite streets to run.)
There were countless phone calls, spreadsheets, early mornings, and last-minute problem solving. But seeing it all come to life made every bit of it worth it.
Race morning was everything we had hoped for.
Bridge Builder Communities is creating a tiny home neighborhood designed for young adults transitioning out of foster care and into adulthood. The community will provide not only safe, affordable housing, but also mentorship, resources, and a strong support system as residents begin building independent lives. One of the most meaningful moments of the course was running right past the future site of the neighborhood—a powerful reminder of exactly what everyone was helping make possible with every mile.
Seeing so many people show up for both the miles and the mission reminded us exactly why community events matter.
Music from our DJ filled the start and finish area. Friends lingered long after they crossed the line with coffee in hand. Volunteers high-fived finishers. New friendships were made. It felt less like an event and more like a celebration of everything we love about our local running community.
At Bolt, we've always believed running is about so much more than pace or finish times. It's about creating moments that bring people together.
The Trellis 10K did exactly that.
To everyone who ran, volunteered, donated, sponsored, cheered, or simply showed up to support the day—thank you. You helped turn an ambitious idea into something we'll remember for a long time.
